Dual-beam CO2 laser welding process, the angle of the dual-beam laser is 22°, was used to research the pole control of 5083 aluminum alloy in the experiment. The experimental data show that the welding process can be a stable one in deep penetration welding and the surface of the weld is in the state of smooth and good forming when the interval between the focuses of the dual-beam is 0.4mm. At the same time the pore tendency is greatly reduced in the inside of the weld. When the interval between the focuses of the dual-beam is in the case of 0mm or more than 0.6mm the welding process becomes unstable and more big pores are found in the weld. Also, the results indicate that the changes of the angle and arrangement of the dual-beam laser make quite different outcome in the welding of 5083 Aluminum Alloy.
