Presented at ICALEO 2012

A few years ago, the introduction of high brightness lasers remarkably influenced the high power laser market. But only the further development of scanner technology leads to an enhanced usage of the advantages of high brightness lasers. Examples for welding and cutting with high brightness lasers will demonstrate this. Furthermore, novel systems for the prevention of focal shifts and optical feedbacks will be introduced, as this prevention becomes more and more important for many applications. In addition, examples for innovative hybrid applications with high power diode lasers will be given. The laser interference lithography method with high brightness pulsed systems allows the patterning of different structures onto the surface of a work piece and opens a variety of new application possibilities, for example in the fields of reduction of friction, bio and medical technology and optical design. Some examples will be shown during the presentation.
