In order to improve the cavitation resistance and frictional wear properties of Titanium alloy steam blade, TC4 alloy and CO2 laser would be respectively selected as base materials and heat source. Through parameter adjustment of laser power, scanning speed and NiAl-VC powder content, experiments were carried on. The laser alloyed coatings were characterized by optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS). The microhardness of the laser alloyed layer was measured by micro-hardness tester. Cavitation resistance tests and frictional wear analysis of the coatings and the substrate were also tested respectively. The result showed, the laser alloyed layer embodies strengthening phase, such as TiC, Al2NiTi3C, NiTi, Ti2Ni and Ti3Al. The microhardness was increased 2-3 times, up to HV0.1996, compared with that of the base materials. In addition, the cavitation resistance and wear properties of the coating are enhanced more than 2 times.
