Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) is due to its high strength-to-weight ratio nowadays widely used in aviation and automotive industry as well as in high end consumer products. Improved and reliable machining techniques like laser processing for reduction of manufacturing time and production costs are highly demanded by the industrial community. Latest results of composite machining techniques like laser joining, high-power laser cutting and laser-based repair concepts are presented.
