Rapid manufacturing and high accuracy are very important factors in the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process, one of Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) system due to the life cycle of a product getting shorter. In order to develop more elaborate and speedy system for fabricating objects compared to existing SLS, this study employs a new Digital Mirror System (DMS) process. It contains variable beam expander for variableness spot size instead of the existing fixed beam expander used in commercial SLS. The optimal fabrication parameters such as laser beam power, scan speed, scan space and laser beam spot size should be determined when sintering materials. In this paper, we will address methods for the effective laser scanning path generation, the suitable scan speed and the laser beam spot size. Also, experiments have been performed to evaluation the effect of fabrication parameters on process and to fabricate the various 3D objects using DMS.
