In this article, we present new results on laser sintering of metallic or ceramic parts. First, we present the sintering process. The global process is overviewed, from the CAD file to the generation of the laser scanning of the powder.
The principle of the machine is then described. We present the PM250 Phenix Systems machine and show the PM100 too.
The sintering process has a large number of parameters (slicing parameters, layering parameters, lasering parameters). As the machine is very opened in term of parameters setting, we propose a global strategy for the parameter search. In order to show the global capabilities of the machine, we present examples in metallic powder and in ceramic powder.
The last part of the article is dedicated to the presentation of a complete application: the dental prothesis direct manufacturing in CrCo alloy. The process is described, for the input data to the final part coming from the sintering process.
