A nano-imprinting technique for fabricating polymer planar waveguide Bragg gratings operating at 1550nm is presented. The Bragg grating is written on photoresist layer by the interference of two laser beams at a specific writing angle. A mould of the grating pattern is taken on PDMS. A UV15 polymer cladding is spin coated onto a Si substrate. The Bragg gratings are then imprinted onto the surface of UV15. The waveguide core is formed with another polymer NOA73 with a rib waveguide for lateral confinement also fabricated using soft imprinting. Details of fabrication techniques and optical characterisation are presented.
