Based on the welding requirements of Hastelloy C-276 in the industry, the pulsed laser welding of 0.5 mm thickness Hastelloy C-276 was investigated, and the smooth weld joint with refined grain was obtained. Then, the defect in the weld joint was tested by the X-Ray flaw detection and micro-examination, and the corrosion-resistant property of weld joint was evaluated via the strong acid and electrochemistry corrosion. By the X-Ray flaw detection, there were not obvious defects in the weld joint, and just two micro-holes were found during the micro-examination. In addition, the corrosion-resistant property of the weld joint in the strong acid corrosion was nearly the same as that of the base metal. The polarization curve in the weld joint, resulting from the electrochemistry corrosion test, showed little difference from that of a base metal. The results indicated, for the thin Hastelloy C-276 sheet, using the pulsed laser welding could obtain the well weld joint with little defect and the corrosion-resistant property was impacted by the pulsed laser welding process.
