This paper deals with the energy efficiency of various laser machining processes. Analytical models are developed and employed for assessing the energy requirements on various laser based processes and for comparing the laser processing with conventional processes. Furthermore, the results of the analysis are used for proposing processing strategies. For the verification of the proposed method, the theoretical calculations are experimentally checked for different laser manufacturing processes.
