Remote processing is known as a new trend to increase productivity of manufacturing processes. Even cutting of non - metals is a large area of potential Remote laser applications. The advantages of high speed and accurate cutting without any proccessing gas enable the customer to cut plastics or composites with best quality. Due to the short interaction time between laser beam and material it is possible to process composites with different physical properties like melting temperature or thermal conduction. As an example for industrial proofed processes the production of airbags using remote cutting will be presented in detail. Furthermore new developments of the laboratory on the field of fiber reinforced cutting are shown.
