Haynes 188 alloy is widely used in aviation industry as it has good ductility and fatigue behavior at elevated temperature. Laser Net Shape Manufacturing (LNSM) with both CO2 and fiber lasers is employed to deposit the Haynes 188 alloy for correlating various key processing parameters such as laser power density, laser scan rate and powder feed rate with microstructure and tensile properties. Tensile test samples were prepared both parallel and vertical to the laser scan direction with two types of deposited geometries, viz., plate like and circular geometries. It was observed that the tensile property with circular sample prepared in horizontal direction demonstrated the highest tensile properties both in strength and ductility.
