This article presents investigations carried out on the generation 3D structures of TA6V or Inconel718. In order to generate 3D complex structure in laser cladding, it is necessary to study the possibility of building materials with a large overhung angle. This can be done by rotation of the substrate or of the nozzle. This article presents results on building structures. First, the article presents the capabilities of the process in the two materials. The limit angles are defined for different conditions. Then, a particular attention is made on the process control system designed in order to stabilize the cladding process. Recent results are presented concerning the closed loop and the associated corrector. Finally, we demonstrate the capability of the system by building some typical 3D structures.
