The SRV tests show that laser remelting, laser alloying and laser cladding processes reduce the wear loss of both the piston ring and the partner cylinder liner. It can be concluded that the piston rings processed by laser strengthening have good wear resistance and extensive partner adaptability. The piston rings processed by laser cladding have the lowest friction coefficient (0.067~0.085). It is deduced that the piston ring processed by laser cladding has the best wear resistance and partner adaptability.
