Important Information for ICALEO Presenters

ICALEO® brings together the leaders and experts in the field of laser material interaction, providing the world’s premier platform for sharing new ideas and discovering solutions. Connect with leaders in academia and industry by presenting your work at ICALEO 2019.

Specifications and opportunities for laser materials processing applications, advancements and solutions will be focused on the value/supply chain of four industrial sectors and grouped in four general technology conferences.

LIA solicits abstracts of cutting-edge research in the following technology areas for high impact applications in any of the four industrial sectors. Abstracts that are closely related to these technology areas will also be considered.

Guidelines

Submitted abstracts should contain original, recent, unpublished results of applications research, development, or implementation. Your abstract should be a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 400 words in length. Authors are encouraged to indicate the current phase of their work. Commercial papers will not be accepted.

Authors are asked to secure company and/or government security clearance to present and publish as early as possible. This enables LIA to ensure the quality of the conference and to minimize last minute withdrawn papers.

Please secure travel and accommodation funding through sponsoring organizations prior to submitting abstracts. We regret that travel and accommodation funding is not available through LIA.

Peer-Review Opportunity

Please submit your abstracts to no later than April 19, 2019.

Peer-reviewed Papers

Submitters can select the option to have their technical paper reviewed by a blind peer review process. The peer review panel will look for quality of the research, relevance and significance of the findings. Selected papers will be identified as such in the ICALEO® 2019 Congress Proceedings and published in the Journal of Laser Applications (JLA).

Presentation Awards

Full-time students (Student ID required with conference registration and application form) are encouraged to submit papers on their research in the field of laser applications and electro-optics. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Prize winners will be announced during the Closing Plenary Session of ICALEO® and included in an article in the LIA TODAY newsletter featuring ICALEO. Winning papers will be submitted to LIA’s Journal of Laser Applications® (paper will go through peer review process).

Submitted papers will be reviewed by conference chairs and slotted into appropriate sessions. Judges will not review their own students. Students with accepted papers will be judged by an international panel based on the following criteria:

  • Originality of Topic / Material Presented
  • Scientific and Technical Merit / Impact
  • Clarity of Presentation (Oral & Visual)
