LIA's Laser Additive Manufacturing workshop (LAM) is returning in person this year to Dayton, Ohio at the Marriott at the University of Dayton. LAM is a unique workshop that brings together industry specialists from around the world to provide insight into highly focused areas of laser additive manufacturing.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the latest in laser additive manufacturing
  • Find solutions to technology challenges
  • Meet new suppliers
  • Network with colleagues and industry specialists
  • Source new products

This year's program will highlight three areas of laser additive manufacturing: lasers, optics, and sensors. Additionally, there will be an added focus on regional workforce training initiatives covering Advanced Photonics Manufacturing.

Education Meets Industry Symposium

Before this year's Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) workshop, we will be hosting an Education Meets Industry Symposium that focuses on laser materials processing and additive manufacturing, highlighting the increasing need for skilled technicians with interdisciplinary expertise.

Presentations advocate a return to fundamentals, emphasizing the importance of mastering basics like laser material interaction. Dayton's integration of DRSS-CAMP with Clark State College's Laser Material Processing Pathway ensures students access state-of-the-art equipment, preparing them for industry demands. This collaboration represents a significant step in bridging the gap between education and industry, fostering a new generation of adaptable manufacturing professionals.
